I'm an Aunt!

I officially become an aunt yesterday 11/18/08 at 6:02 pm. My sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy weighing 7lbs 1oz and he was 20 in. long. It was a long emotion filled day. She ended up having to have a c-section, but both her and baby are doing well now. I will post pics and a slideshow sometime in the next few days!

This means I am more behind in work since I was at the hospital all day. I am working like a crazy woman to get all of my sessions edited and orders placed. If your waiting on your gallery to be put up, it will be SOON, I promise.

Just some random thoughts today.

First, I found this song on YouTube and I can NOT stop listening to it. I dont know if its the sweet thoughts from the movie, or if its the realxing tone on the music. But I just can not get enough of it. So I thought I would share it with all of you.

Its that time of year again, Christmas. It is my favorite time of year. The music, the hot chocolate, the lights, the SHOPPING! What more could a girl want? I have already started Christmas shopping, have you? This time of year gets so chaotic and just flies by in a big holiday whirlwind. So, to help both you and me during this busy time of year, I am have holiday mini sessions. Last year I was so busy with last minute sessions. Everyone wanted Christmas cards and they wanted them fast! So to help budget all of our time, I am holding mini sessions.

Engagement Session- Conroe

Saturday I had the priviledge of photographing a happy beatutiful couple. Travis and Kayla are getting married next May. I have to say that they are perfect for each other. They are so funny and it was a blast to hang out with them. We had a couple of hiccups that slowed us down. One was I got pooped on by a dang pigeon! And Travis seemed to have a hard time staying on his feet. Sorry Travis, I ratted you out. But it all made the session fly by as we were constantly laughing(and singing, Kayla!). It was one of my most entertaining sessions to date. I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peeks!

I am magic! I Disappeared!

WOW! Bet you guys didnt know I have secret hidden talents. Like the ability to disappear. It was all an illusion though. I was still here the whole time, you just didnt know it. Ok, but in all seriousness its been almost 3 MONTHS since my last post. That is horrible! I give you all permission to slap me via email or phone if I ever go longer than a week without posting! In my defense, I have been super busy...

The older 2 kids came home from thier summer with dad, just in time for drillteam camp and schoold sortly followed. The month of August was filled with meet the teachers, open house, drillteam stuff, etc.. It was a whirlwind month, as I am sure it is for most families.

Brett, my hubby, took a new job and has been in Germany for a month and will be home at the end of this month! I thought I would be ok, afterall I was a single mom of two kids for a few years. Well let me tell you, three kids is a WHOLE different story. Especially when one of them is in his terrible twos! Man that kid sucks my energy dry.

Ike. That one little 3 letter word means so many things to so many. To me it means losing my home. Ike hit about a week after my husband left for Germany. My dad made me and the kids go to his house during the storm(thankfully). I resisted thinking it was only a measly catagory 2 storm, big deal right? WRONG! But I went anyway. Two trees down on my house later, I am suddenly homeless wiht 3 kids. Now, I had places to stay(my family was great), but I had no home to go home to. My 12yr old daughter lost just about everything she owned. So now I have been dealing with contractors, insurance company, getting the trees off the house, cleaning up debris after the storm(Bretts dad and family handled most of this for me, thanks!), finding a new place to live, moving, etc... all by myself. I have been doing ok, but it has been very emotionally draining.

So all of that sums of why I havent been posting on here, and what has been going on in my life. I have had sessions thrown in here and there in all of this mess. Most have been boudoir sessions and were posted on my boudoir blog.

I hope to be better about blogging from this point on.

Random...

Time has just flown by the last two weeks. I took two weeks off to spend time with my kids before they left for another 3 week visit with thier dad. This worked out well since I am also nursing my broken foot. Of course two weeks off doesnt actaully mean two weeks of no work. I have still been editing pictures and answering emails and phone calls. I just took two weeks off from sessions. I am going to start slowly doing sessions again. I dont want to push my foot too fast. In my down time I decided to put together this slideshow for the K family.




Oh, and cool news! I get a day off!! I am heading to Lousianna Saturday for a day girl-trip to the casinos. I am sooooo excited. Not really about the gambling(althogh that is sooo fun), but about a day of no kids and no hubby! I havent had a day of no kids in about 3 years. Except for a trip a year ago, but I spent the whole thing bed ridden EXTREMELY sick. I know not all of you will understand my excitement, but I just had to share.
